The Sons of Abraham is book three of a 4-book series of Bible Studies concentrating on the spiritual trunk of the Jewish family tree. The LORD called Abram, later renamed Abraham, to leave Ur of the Chaldees, his native country, to go wherever God revealed to him. Abram trusted God to show him the way and believed God when He promised to make him a great nation. The LORD blessed Abram, and his seedÃ¢â‚¬â€of Sarai, later SarahÃ¢â‚¬â€namely Isaac, Jacob, JacobÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s twelve sons and their sons. Throughout the Old Testament, we read the history of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the sons of promise. They would inherit land the LORD showed Abram/Abraham.

At that time, their land grant was referred to only as Ã¢â‚¬Ëœthe land of promiseÃ¢â‚¬â„¢. Inhabiting that property would take many years. AbrahamÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s descendants would have to fight to take possession of their inheritance, which was the land of distant relatives, the Canaanites. But God was with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and promised to bless those who blessed them and curse those who cursed them.

They had the LORD God Almighty on their side; with them all the way. But the journey proved to be hard-fought and bitter-sweet. Many of the people were destroyed because of their disbelief, or because of their disobedience. However, the story inside these covers will help you discover for yourself just how much our natural and/or spiritual lives have been impacted by our ancestor Abraham.

About The Author

I am a teacher and writer, with over 35 years of combined experience in Information Systems and Bible teaching and writing. During the later years of my career as a civilian employee with the Navy and after retirement, I worked part-time as a substitute Computer teacher at various high schools. A week after I retired, I began teaching a Computer class at a local Community College satellite center and discovered that I should have been teaching those 32 years I worked as a Computer Systems Analyst. But I believe that Ã¢â‚¬Ëœall things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposeÃ¢â‚¬â„¢, (Romans 8:28, KJV). And of course, most of my career prepared me for what I do now, especially teaching.

I began writing when I started journaling Ã¢â‚¬Ëœthe facts of my lifeÃ¢â‚¬â„¢. Anytime I am writing I lose all sense of time; the same thing happens when IÃ¢â‚¬Ëœm studying the Bible. This is how I finally discovered my God-given gifts, and my purpose in life. I struggled for over 40 years trying to figure out why I was born, and what God wanted me to do. Now I live a joyful life. I donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t just exist anymore!
How can I be so sure about GodÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s gifts? Because I can write, teach, and research all day long and not care whether IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m paid for it or not. I used to tell my students to prepare for a career that would allow them to earn a living doing what they loved to do. It would have been great if someone had told me that when I was in school!

For the past 3 years, I have conducted classes from books IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve written for anyone who wants to learn. These days, with Covid19 lingering into its ninth month, virtual classes are a real blessing. I am also involved in a Bible class with the San Diego Downtown Section of the world-wide Bible Study Fellowship International Organization. I pray with a group of young women once a month; this is via social media also. Along with these commitments and my writing, I am one of the Mothers of my church in San Diego, California: Bayview Baptist Church, Senior Pastor is T.W. Brooks, DMin. I stay busy, and I enjoy it. Prayer gets me through it all.
