A Whirlpool of Emotions

The True Story of the Highs and Lows of Coping with Being Disabled

by Dorothy Reynolds

About The Book

A true life story of the whirlpool of emotions that are experienced when a life changing event occurs. This book tells of the difficulties not only the person with the new disability suffers but the emotions and the upheaval of everyday life that family and friends suffer and have to learn to handle along with the victim. If this book helps just one family understand the trauma related to the experience of having a new disability then it will have served it's true purpose.

About The Author

After being diagnosed as a paraplegic after contracting staph in my spine and fracturing 2 vertebrae life changed. The highs became just highs but the lows became dark and dreadful. I beat the odds and walked again with the aid of a walking frame, which I still use to this day. This book was written after my first fractures, little did I know that 3 months after being released from rehab I would go through it all a second time. This time the staph infection had eaten that much at the vertebrae the safest option was to put rods in my back. To this day I still walk with a frame but suffer many problems from being an incomplete paraplegic.
