In addition to being a writer, Carla Lamphere has a very busy life. She is very active in the non-profit world, being Executive Director of a local professional symphony orchestra, Co-Director of the Metropolitan Opera auditions for her state, and deacon for her church. For fun she enjoys tennis, golf, biking, kayaking, hiking, and being a grandmother. She lives in southeastern Michigan with her husband Ward and Llewellyn setter Chelsea.
